Using a hydraulic hammer (breaker) effectively with your mini crawler excavator is about technique, not just force. First, ensure the auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure are correctly set for the hammer size. Position the mini crawler excavator so the hammer is perpendicular to the breaking surface. Apply just enough downward pressure to keep the hammer tip in contact with the material; let the hammer's impact do the work—excessive force can damage the tool and the mini crawler excavator's boom. 

Use a "bounce point" technique, breaking on the same spot until it fractures before moving to the next. Avoid using the hammer for prying, and always wear the retaining pins to prevent the hammer from detaching from your mini crawler excavator.
